Be in a good spirit
I was born into a rural setting, the daughter of a father who is Chippewa Indian and French and of a mother who is Crow Indian and Swedish. I was raised on a 106-acre farm in Boston, Indiana with three brothers and a sister. I was educated at Boston Elementary School, Boston Junior High, Richmond Senior High, and Indiana University East in Richmond where I enrolled in Drug and Alcohol Counseling. |
I am attending Ball State University seeking a masters degree in Secondary Education/English with a emphasis on American Indian Lit. I have received a Bachelors of Science in Pre-Preofessional creatve Writing with an emphasis on poetry and American Indian Lit. I have three minors in Sociology, Interpersonal Relations, and Developmental Psychology. I received the Barry Wright Scholarsip for excellence in poetry from Ball State in 1999. My poetry has been published in the MTCUP Review where I was on the staff for five consecutive semesters, English dept. newsletter-Scraps, Natural Resource's Groundwork, National Library of Poetry, Illad Press, Poetry Guild,Jar Magazine, Daily Newspaper on Ball State campus-several columns that I wrote on American Indian issues, University apartment newsletter, feature article in the Muncie Star Press, Palladium Item newspaper in Richmond, and Published The Lands and the Rivers Below. Currently working on a poetry book Walking the Earth. I am an Educator, Activist, Writer, and Student.I have a twelve year old son, Mitchell. We are members of the White Buffalo Society.
